DESIGN TEAM CALL 2008

Hello ladies,

First and foremost we would like to THANK all of the wonderful Design Team members from this year. You guys really did a truly awesome job and all of your work was wonderful - you ROCKED! It is really great to see customers appreciate all the hard work everyone puts into their layouts and altered projects. The best compliment is when a customer asks if they can take a picture of the Design Teams work! Gotta love that! So again, thank you all for creating such great work for the store!

We have been getting alot of questions as to when the new 2008 Design Team call is happening. So here's the info:

SCRAPBOOK CENTRAL INSPIRATION STATION - DESIGN TEAM CALL 2008

Are you interessted in becoming a member of the Scrapbook Central Design Team for 2008 - if so...here's your chance. We are looking for 6-10 individuals for the upcoming 2008 Design Team year. At this time we are requesting that you live locally and are able to pick up your kits on a monthly basis. If you are interested in becoming an Inspiration Station Girl (aka Scrapbook Central Design Team member) please email me 3 of your most original layouts, 2 altered projects and 2 cards. These items can be of your choosing. We are looking for layouts and projects using a variety of techniques - stamping, embossing, inking ect.

The deadline for all submissions will be November 30th, 2007. Although you will be emailing me your work - your original layouts and projects must be received in the store no later than November 30th. We will not be accepting any submisions after the November 30th deadline. The new Design Team will be announced December 15th, 2007.

If chosen for our Team you will be required to complete at least one kit per month (our kits are generally brand spanking new products that have come out on the market) and depending on the size of the kit you will need to complete at least 2 layouts and one altered item. We encourage our Team to use as much of the supplies as you are given - but in the event that you have leftovers - they are yours to keep. Monthly kits will need to be returned to the store within 2 weeks of receiving your kits. Our Design Team Members will also receive a 25% discount on all products in the store for the duration of your time as Design Team member. As a Design Team member you will be occasionally asked to participate in helping out with make and takes and some projects that will be done during our crops. We also ask thatyou participate in the Scrapbook Central Forum boards. We encourage our Team to post their layouts that they have done.

So, if you are interested and you want to join our team please email your layouts, altered items and cards to Tammy Friedberg at
blondey040300@yahoo.com for review. We look forward to seeing everyones submissions!

Newest TEAM Member!

Please join me in welcoming our newest team member Andrea Cloutier.

Hi there! I'm Andrea living in South Florida, originally from Massachusetts. I escaped the cold northeast for the comforts of the sun, beach and surf!
I am a Mechanical Engineer by schooling and a devoted stamper and scrapbooker by choice. The love of my life is Phil and we live with our 2 cats in an old Florida home. I love to rubberstamp and scrapbook whenever I can. I love weekend scrap getaways so that I can stay up all night cropping!
I have been stamping since 1997 and scrapbooking since 1998. I found my groove around 2000 and haven't looked back! I love to learn new techniques and play with texture and altering. I really can not find a specific word to describe my style - I just love to work with any product to see what I can come up with! I gain inspiration from magazines, idea books and educational DVD's. There is nothing that a rubber stamp, ink or fiber can't fix on any layout, in my opinion! I've been "freestylin'" lately and really have fun with it!

Introducing our newest member.......

Introducing our newest Scrapbook Central member....the oh so beautiful checkout/register counter.....Isn't she lovely! We have been chomping at the bit to get this new counter in. Just another way for us to help better serve our favorite people...our customers!

Nothing like a little back breaking work to improve our store!
She even fit in the elevator...piece by piece!

Our trip to Scrapper's Dream Vacation - SDV

As most of you know we vendored the Scrapper's Dream Vacation (SDV) in Orlando at the Contemporary Hotel in Disney at the beginning of September. It was a fun-filled, over-worked, exhausting trip...but we did it - and we survived (except for Michelle who was a little under the weather - but she was a TROOPER!)

For those of you who are not familiar with SDV - this is an event put on by Dream Events. You go for 4 days of straight 24 hour a day croppin'! Nothing like sitting in a chair for 4 days, croppin', eating everything you want (chocolate), croppin', eating, mingling, croppin', eating....did I mention Croppin'! It rocked! These woman had such a BLAST! They had raffles, drawings, auctions and of course the best part of the weekend was they had us - Scrapbook Central vendoring it. Oh and there were a few other vendors there too.... LOL!
There were over 500 woman at SDV...shopping their little hearts out!

We had such a great time being a part of this weekend. The woman were so friendly and great. And they really seemed to welcome our booth. It will be nice to see some of these people again next year at SDV. So here are some pics from our fabulously exhausting trip...And for those of you who didnt attend - here's a head's up......You need to look into this for next year. It was WELL worth it! You can get all the info you need at http://www.dreameventsinc.com/
And all while this was going on we did keep the store open.....But next year we will actually be closing the store for the week. Which means that all of customers will have to come to Orlando with us! LOL
As you can see we had a little navigator with us. Elephante' gave great directions!

We were wondering why it took Michelle & Tawni 4+ hours to get to Orlando - they let Elephante' drive.....LOL

Needless to say, it only took Tammy F. 2.5 hours to get there...except for the 25 minute pitstop with Officer Johnson....He didn't like her making such great time to Orlando...He was even kind enough to give her a wonderful $215.00 gift....A lovely speeding ticket that she will cherish forever!
Now we are finally back and finally near unpacked.
The store is starting to resemble it's old self again...

Our New Blog!

Well we finally did it...we've moved to a new better blog. Hopefully everyone will enjoy the changes. With this new blog our goal is to be able to show you pictures of our store and to show pictures of all the new products that we are getting in daily. We are so excited about all the new product that has been coming in that we ordered at Summer CHA in Chicago and that will be coming in over the next few months.

Some of the new products that have come in over the past few weeks are Dreamstreet, Sweetwater, Luxe (beautiful rub ons - if you love rub ons you have got to see these...they rock!), Basic Grey (everyone loves a little Basic Grey), Technique Tuesday stamps and tiles, Karen Foster (super cute lines) and a few more that are not coming to mind at the moment.

For those of you who are new to Scrapbook Central we welcome you and cannot wait for you to become part of our scrapbooking family. We have several events going on over the next few weeks starting with this saturday August 18th - we are having an all day crop from 10:00 am until midnight. The cost is $10.00 for the entire day. Check our website for details and to see if we have any available openings. Our next big event will be Scrappink! A 3 day crop-a-thon to benefit breast cancer. This is a wonderful way to spend your weekend - you will be able to have an entire weekend cropping with your friends and a part of the crop fee will be donated to a very wonderful cause that I know is so close to so many woman's lives. Cropping and donating to charity - what better way to spend a weekend. Because of the overwhelming response that we have received from this event we have opened up a 2nd weekend to do Scrappink! Check our website for details and availablity - we look forward to seeing everyone there. For all of our events or general information just log onto www.scrapbookcentralonline.com for more information.
